Michael Jordan’s impressive Chicago home sells after 12 years on the market.
It’s been almost three months since we learned that Michael Jordan’s iconic Chicago-area mansion has finally found a buyer after more than ten years on the market. Today, public records confirm that the sale has officially closed and the final price is $9.5 million, which is a significant drop from the original listing of $29 million in 2012.
This sale is also lower than the last asking price of $14.855 million from 2015, which was a single number based on numerology, since the numbers add up to Jordan’s legendary #23, a number that also graces the doors of his estate.
Known as Legend Point, this Highland Park residence is like a tribute to Jordan’s career, with features such as doors from the original Playboy mansion spread across its 56,000 square feet. The listing describes the 7-acre property as “as legendary as His Lightness itself,” highlighting it as a “monument to his tireless dedication and hard work,” with his distinctive style evident throughout.

The mansion features nine bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, and an array of amenities such as a putting green, tennis court, cigar lounge, and, of course, a full-size basketball court.
Luckily for Jordan, he didn’t have to wait for this sale to acquire another property. In April, he purchased a mansion in a gated community in Jupiter, Florida, for $16.5 million, marking his second home in that area.
The identity of the buyer is still secret. Whoever it is, they’ll definitely have a challenge trying to transform Jordan’s custom mansion into something that doesn’t scream Michael Jordan. This may be one of the reasons the property has been on the market for so long.
Jordan picked up the lot in 1991, during his peak with the Bulls, and invested about $50 million to create Legend Point exactly the way he wanted it. The end result is a one-of-a-kind dream home, which is probably one of the most recognizable celebrity mansions.
