Julia Haart secures $65 million and $10 million divorce settlement.
Julia Haart, the star of Netflix’s My Unorthodox Life, gained control of the business she operated during her marriage to Silvio Scaglia, in addition to the $65 million Tribeca penthouse they shared and nearly of $10 million in cash, as reported by page six. Haart and Scaglia, who co-managed Elite World Models and luxury lingerie brand La Perla, have been engaged in a complicated legal dispute since HAART initiated divorce proceedings in 2022.
After filing for divorce, Scaglia sought to remove her from her position with the company. Haart argued that she was entitled to half of Freedom Holding, which encompasses Elite World Group and their joint residence, in exchange for her role as CEO. Scaglia disputed that claim, saying she had only a small stake in the company.
He further alleged that she embezzled funds and took ownership of a Bentley business; However, he did not present any evidence to support these allegations in court. In a recent ruling, Judge Jeffrey Pearlman entered a default judgment in favor of HAART after Scaglia withdrew from the legal proceedings. This judgment granted HARAR a 50% freehold stake and vested its power of attorney over 50% of Scaglia, allowing it to make independent decisions regarding the company. Additionally, HAART received the 16-room Tribeca Penthouse at 70 Vestry, which Scaglia purchased for $55 million in 2018.
She has lived there since the divorce proceedings began. The residence includes five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two kitchens, a library, a gallery and more than 3,600 square feet of terrace space. The court also ordered Scaglia to pay HAART $7.4 million in unpaid management fees for the years 2019 through 2021. Additionally, she is entitled to half of the proceeds from a Kees van Dongen painting that Scaglia sold $2,972,632. She will also receive half of the cash withdrawals made by Scaglia from their businesses since the divorce proceedings began, with the precise amount to be determined.
After the decision, HAART conveyed its relief and appreciation. “Words cannot fully express the immense joy and gratitude I feel in my heart. Throughout this journey, I held firm to my belief in truth and justice, trusting deeply that if I stayed the course, truth would ultimately prevail and wrongs done to me. I am deeply grateful to God for granting me the strength to persevere and to judge Pearlman for holding Silvio accountable and ensuring that justice was served,” she told Page Six. Haart’s recent legal triumph follows his successful appeal in October of the fraud case against Scaglia, allowing him to move forward with his trial.
The decision allows her to continue her lawsuit against him and several others regarding allegations that he misled her into thinking she was entitled to 50% of the freedom that comes in exchange for her role as CEO. In response, Scaglia dismissed the decision as a “total joke,” saying Freedom Holding and its subsidiaries are premarital assets acquired in 2011, long before he met HAART. He criticized her past, present and future, saying she “was nothing then, she is nothing now and will be nothing in the future.”
